After liquid damage, immediately disconnect power and don't try to turn it on. Every power-on deepens corrosion and can cause short circuits.
Don't dry MacBook with a hair dryer
Hot air pushes moisture deeper into the motherboard and can damage heat-sensitive components.
Don't open the case without proper tools
MacBooks use Pentalobe and Torx screws. Attempting to open with improper tools can damage screws and the case.
Don't ignore crackling and strange smells
Crackling or burning smell means a short circuit on the motherboard. Immediately disconnect power and bring it to a repair shop.
