When is it worth repairing the battery instead of replacing?
Most repair shops propose MacBook battery replacement — cost is 500-1500 PLN depending on the model. Meanwhile, many "dead" batteries have healthy cells — the problem lies in the controller (BMS), which blocked charging after deep discharge or exceeding the cycle limit.
MBRT — battery controller repair tool
The MBRT (Mac Battery Repair Tool) allows communication with the battery controller (BQ20Z451 or BQ40Z651) and performing operations unavailable in standard Apple software:
- Unseal — unlocking the locked controller
- PF Clear — clearing the Permanent Failure flag
- Default Data — restoring default battery parameters
- Service Recommended fix — removing the warning from the system
- S/N Change — serial number change (2012+ models)
The entire procedure takes about 15 minutes. If the cells are healthy, the battery returns to full functionality without replacement.
When will repair NOT help?
Controller repair won't help when lithium-polymer cells are physically damaged — swollen, punctured or after severe short circuit. In such cases, battery replacement is necessary, which we also perform.

How long does MacBook battery repair take?▼
The MBRT procedure itself takes about 15 minutes. With diagnostics and verification — we usually return the device the same day.
Is the repair safe for the battery?▼
Yes — MBRT communicates with the battery controller digitally, it doesn't physically interfere with the cells. It's a safe procedure used by Apple service centers worldwide.
Which MacBooks are supported?▼
MacBook Pro, Air and MacBook 12" from 2009-2024. We support over 25 battery models — from A1309 to A2797, including models with M1, M2 and M3 chips.
What if the repair doesn't help?▼
If the cells are physically damaged, we'll propose battery replacement with a new one. You only pay for successful repair (No Data No Fee on the MBRT procedure).
Will the battery be like new after repair?▼
Repair restores controller operation, but doesn't rejuvenate the cells. If the cells have e.g. 80% of original capacity, that will remain after repair — but the battery will charge and work again.
